Written in 1949 by Jack Williamson inspired this
brooding, moody piece and depicts robot servants offloading replicas of
themselves in the dead of night. While a good idea in theory, these perfect ‘bots, originally meant
to serve and protect man, end up taking over the planet and driving mankind mad
with boredom as they were no longer allowed to think or do anything for
themselves, particularly if the Humanoids deemed such activity to be dangerous
or illogical.
